With the privilege of bringing customers the highest quality jades with exquisite detailing produced by Myanmar craftsmen, the client envisioned a space that would harmonize with these divine jade products. Stylus Studio understood the client's expectations and visualized a chic and balanced interior that enhances the shopping experience, balancing emotions, calming the mind, and releasing negativity.
One of the key elements in creating a comfortable and practical environment is lighting. Stylus Studio has specially designed purpose-made lamp shades that create a pleasant atmosphere, allowing customers to see the details clearly and display the items in the best possible way. These lamp shades incorporate functional spotlights with a combination of color temperatures, ensuring that the jade jewelry is displayed at its optimum illuminance.
The flagship store spans an overall area of 2040 square meters, with the ground floor and second floor each covering 620 square meters, and an additional 800 square meters dedicated to office space. The display counter space measures 72.5 meters, with different areas catering to various views and experiences, including street-side display counters, landscape view display area counters, city view display area counters, and a VIP display area.
The design team at Stylus Studio, led by Simon Zeng and Vincent Zhang, worked closely with the private client to create a space that goes beyond the traditional jewelry store setting. The store's design encourages guests to indulge in a curvilinear retail journey, inspired by the circular beauty of lily pads. Surrounding the store are tenuous water and plantation features, framed by windows that extend from the ground level up to the second floor, creating a backdrop that renews itself as the seasons change.
One of the challenges faced in this project was breaking away from the traditional jewelry store setting and creating multi-layer displays to showcase a range of jades in the high-ceiling space. The sophisticated lighting design integrated into the space reflects the distinctive artistry of the craftsmen involved, imbued with passion.
The store location remains confidential at the client's request. However, the design extends beyond the store itself. The famous local red wood was used to create the store front facade, which, paired with lighting effects, makes the client's store a building that is hard to miss. The symbiosis and co-prosperity of the Water Garden and Gem Culture illuminate the new future of retail experience.
The Flagship design by Stylus Studio Limited has been recognized for its outstanding creativity and ingenuity. It was awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail, and Exhibition Design category in 2021. This prestigious award is bestowed upon designs that authenticate experience and resourcefulness, incorporating best practices in art, science, design, and technology. The Flagship design exhibits strong technical and creative skills, contributing to quality of life improvements and making the world a better place.
